Angela Evelyn Bassett was born in the US. Angela Evelyn Bassett, an American actor. Bassett was raised living in Winston-Salem North Carolina, raised by her aunt in New York New York. As Bassett was around five, she and her sister were moved from the city of St. Petersburg, Florida to stay with their mother, who was been divorced from her father. When she was in high school Bassett watched John Steinbeck's drama Of Mice and Men starring James Earl Jones and decided she wanted to pursue a career as an actor. In 1980, Bassett was graduated from Yale University New Haven Connecticut with the degree of African American studies. She was also awarded a degree by the Yale School of Drama. Courtney B. Vance met her at Yale, and in 1997 they tied the knot. Qualification: B.A. at Yale's School of Drama. conferred an M.A. in Fine Arts in African American Studies to Angela Bassett back in the year. The school she attended was the institutions that she attended: Jordan Park elementary school, Disston Middle School for 7th graders, Azalea Middle School for 8th and 9th grades and Boca Ciega High School.
